Samantha Wraith is a founding Co-Artistic Director of Theatre Obscura. She is a theatre practitioner, dramatherapist, creative process coach, performance and visual artist with over 15 years experience of producing participatory arts-based experiences that incite and facilitate transformation.
Samantha’s specialisms are process-led, research-based arts practices, where she is particularly inspired by embodied approaches to personal and cultural development, sensory ethnographic research methods, trauma, memory and consciousness studies. Samantha is also Chair of Trustees at Root Experience interactive performance company where she leads with emphasis on compassionate and connective governance and the ethics of participation.
Amerie Rose is a founding Co-Artistic Director of Theatre Obscura. She specialises in theatre, performance art and dramatherapy, with a particular interest in environment, surrealism and the post-dramatic. Participatory arts and social action are her passion, with 20 years of experience as a community artist / facilitator and social entrepreneur to her name.
Her influences include person centred processes, creative arts therapy, Open Space Technology, specialist education methodology and inclusive governance systems. Her skills lie in facilitating enhanced encounters between herself and others by encouraging active listening, empowered involvement and unconditional positive regard between participants. She is also a director at ESSENCE, Exeter’s Social Enterprise Network.
